BCC consulted in November 2012 on options for providing higher levels of new housing and employment within the city. The council have now considered the responses to this consultation and have also undertaken additional research to identify the best way forward, the outcome of which is contained within the BDP – pre-Submission Plan.
On the 21st October 2013 the Council's Cabinet endorsed the pre-submission version of the BDP to go forward to the Full Council meeting on the 3rd December. At the Full Council meeting authority will be sought to publish the Plan and undertake public consultation. Following this consultation the Plan will be submitted to the Secretary of State for an Examination in Public.
The Cabinet report, the pre-submission Plan and all the supporting documents are now available to view and download from the Birmingham City Council website (www.birmingham.gov.uk/plan2031). If the documents are agreed by Full Council then there will be a six week statutory consultation period which BCC expect to begin on the 6th January 2014. Before this the council will write to residents explaining the consultation process.
